Work Experiences

Quality Engineer at Katayama American
(Oct 2019 – Present)

Provide customer and production quality engineering support for sash, molding, extrusion and steel roll-forming lines.

Quality Engineer at Faurecia Clean Mobility
(May 2017 –Oct 2019)

Provide new model and production quality engineering support for exhaust manufacturing lines that utilized automated / manual MIG welding and pipe bending processes.

  • Support all quality functions related to launching automated welding lines. Prepared functional documents related to PPAP submission (CP/PFMEA, GR&R, Cpk Studies) and APQP milestones (VPP, PSW)
  • Reviewed functional gages during design feasibility and verified conformance to print GD&T and datum scheme. Negotiated corrective action with vendors for manf. defects using FARO / GD&T analysis.
  • Improved process capability by incorporation of poka-yokes in tooling and affecting tool concept design changes. Reduced rework by methodically shimming multiple stations and fabrication of new tooling.
  • Developed digital auditing system that automatically organize, analyses and alerts management of non-conformances. This was the first digital implementation and was well received by high level management.
  • Developed data miner to automate the collection and analysis of data from weld cut and etch process.
  • Created cut and etch scheduler that predicts sampling schedule based on monthly production volume.
  • Successfully supported quality functions related to TS16949 re-certification.

Quality Engineer at TS Tech (June 2016 –May 2017)

Provide engineering support for seat assembly and frame manufacturing lines.

  • Development of TS16949 complying Control Plans and FMEAs for current and new model platforms.
  • Support change point control through review and approval of PPAP and new machine acceptance.
  • Ensure effective corrective action implementation through internal and supplier trouble report review.
  • Lead problem solving by utilizing RCA, MSA, FARO (3D Arm) programming and data analysis.
  • Scrap reduction by identifying and leading teams to implement PLC based force control solutions.
  • Achieve new machine part capability through data driven methodical shimming of weld nests.

Quality Engineer at Thyssenkrupp Presta
(January 2015 – January 2016)

Provide engineering support for lines that assemble steering column sub-assemblies.

  • Responsible for supporting quality functions during SQDC meetings. Collaborate with team to implement process improvements to enhance quality, reduce scrap and machine downtime.
  • Utilized core quality tools to monitor process stability and identify special/common causes of deviation.
  • Drive production team in root cause investigations using 8D methodology and implement corrective action to resolve internal and external customer quality issues.
  • Ensured process compliance through development and review of procedures, works instructions, check sheets and other product and process related documentation.
  • Participated in 5S audits and Kaizen Blitz workshops for responsible areas.

Production Quality Technician at Thyssenkrupp Presta
(November 2012 – January 2015)

Support quality functions for lines that manufacture automotive components using automated laser welding and subsequently assemble steering column subassemblies using screwing / joining processes.

  • Interpreted engineering drawings, QA procedures and test and measurement equipment results to determine compliance of components and finished goods against internal and external specifications.
  • Evaluated process data and charts to prepare reports that validate or indicate process deviations.
  • Verified part dimensions using metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gages, height gage, OGP SmartScope, optical comparator, and CMM.
  • Ensure that test and inspection processes are being performed as defined in quality system standards.
